Holden Special 'Chilli Roadster'

A very unique Roadster. It is based on a 1960 Indy Watson Racecar, has a fiberglass body, jig built chassis and uses a 202 (LPG) HQ/HZ running gear. It weighs approx 800kgs and zips around the road &track. It is a fun car & as there is only two registered in NSW it certainly gets the looks.
The car as an Individually Constructed Vehicle (ICV). It was built using a custom chassis, body and a selection of donor parts from the H Series Kingswood’s to comply it for registration.
I built the car in 2003 with Rob Rowe of Rob Rowe Automotive, who is a well known and respected Historic Race Car Builder and first had it registered in December 2003.
Since building the car it has completed around 1,000 klms as I have the prototype which was built in 2002 which I use more regularly
The motor is a standard 202 bottom, with a HQ race cam and the head has had a little work. The gas system runs the Gas Research Carby on the bigger two barrel manifold.
The box is a 3speed M20 and runs back to a standard Banjo rear end.
We currently have four dedicated race cars that are campaigning again this year and a couple more are being built.
